BEARING MANUFACTURING

We helped a European bearing company to develop the planning, procurement and inventory control functions for a start-up organization to produce it's product line in North America.

ENGINE VALVE MANUFACTURING

Working closely with the management team of a major engine valve manufacturing business, we were able to make significant improvements in control of in-process inventory and the related salvage material accounting.  Resulting savings in product costs were 17% in the year implemented.

AUTOMOTIVE REPLACEMENT PARTS DISTRIBUTION

We planned and implemented the relocation of central warehousing and distribution facilities for a national automotive parts manufacturing organization. This project involved the movement of millions of dollars worth of inventory across many locations without losing track of each part and without loss of service to customers.

Project scope included implemention of systems for planning, purchasing, and distributing automotive replacement parts through a central storage and packaging facility and a nationwide network of 18 warehouses utilizing a private truck fleet. Successfully implemented the change to a computer-driven multi-level inventory and order filling concept, reducing total inventory investment and significantly improving customer service levels.

PISTON RING MANUFACTURING

Raised the effectiveness of purchasing, inventory & production control functions through staff re-structuring and systems upgrading at manufacturer of engine piston rings for automotive and aircraft applications.

ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS MANUFACTURING

Planned inventory-related systems and procedures for the pager and the 2-way communications divisions of a major international electronics manufacturer, including production planning & scheduling, inventory control and logistics planning for manufacturing plants in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Malaysia. Implemented schedule disciplines that improved throughput and reduced investments in inventory.

Designed the material and control system for a rapidly growing computer manufacturing company . In additions to production scheduling and inventory control, responsibilities included systems to monitor and control technical drafting, document computer system configuration, and organize data processing operations. Led the team that designed and implemented a computerized Manufacturing Resource Planning system.
